Holiday Book Drive at Stillwater Public Library

Thursday, December 07, 2017
Stillwater Public Library

A book is a present you can open again and again. Research has shown that children who read – and whose parents or caregivers read to them – are more successful in school and in work than children in homes where reading does not take place. Yet in many homes, books just don’t fit in the budget.

This year, as in the past, the Stillwater Public Library is collecting new children’s books for distribution through Head Start and Community Thread’s Holiday Hope. The community is invited to bring new, unwrapped hardcover or paperback books for children of all ages, especially teenagers, to the Public Services Desk on the lower level of the library. Consider purchasing a book locally or perhaps book club members might purchase a few books for kids this season...?

The Holiday Book Drive will continue through Thursday, December 7. The library is located at 224 Third Street North, Stillwater.

For information about the Book Drive or library services, call 651-430-4876.
